(3). 1. All letters from enemy subjects are examined and stopped if in furtherance of enemy trade. All letters from enemy subjects which are harmless are retumed as non-trmsmissible. These rules apply equally to letters in closed mails with letters passing à découvert through the General Post Office.

ii.

All Indian correspondence destined for places other the Great Britain and British Colonies and all Indim newspapers are carefully censored.

iii. All Chinese newspapers are censored.

iv.

All letters to and from Prisoners of War (Military Authorities)

( Bee 4) T. All letters from suspected persons whose names appear on a list furnished by the Police the Provost Marshal the General Staff Officer, the Consuls in neighbouring ports and countries, the Home Authorities, Censors in Great Britain and in other Colonies, Protectorates or Dominions.

The following correspondence is exempted from censorship:- (a). The official correspondence of British or allied officials Noval Military and Civil.

(b). The official correspondence of the United States Consular Officers providing such correspondence bears the official Consular seal. (c). The official correspondence of neutrals (chiefly China).

(4).

Letters for Prisoners of War:-

(1). In Hongkong. These are censored by the Military Authorities.
